DAY 1 ~ A CRY FOR HELP | 52 Days of Debt Deliverance and Rebuilding Financial Walls

This first week focuses on confronting the debt. Many of us work hard and serve faithfully, yet financial pressure, generational patterns of indebtedness, and the enemy’s traps continue to weigh us down.

On this first day of our 21-day journey of debt deliverance (Thursday, May 7, 2026), we gathered in thanksgiving and praise, acknowledging God’s goodness and the rest He has given our souls. We began by humbling ourselves before Him, asking for mercy according to His loving-kindness (Psalm 51), seeking cleansing from every sin so we could stand before Him with pure hearts.

The foundation scripture for these 21 days is 2 Kings 4:1–7 — the story of the widow whose husband (a faithful prophet) died in debt. The creditor was about to take her two sons as slaves. In desperation, she cried out to Elisha for help. Today, like that widow, we also cry out to our Father for divine intervention.

This first week focuses on confronting the debt. Many of us work hard and serve faithfully, yet financial pressure, generational patterns of indebtedness, and the enemy’s traps continue to weigh us down. God is calling us to break these cycles — not only for ourselves but for our children — so that no new generation enters slavery to debt.

Key prayer points from Day 1:

  • Cry out to God for mercy and intervention over every debt.
  • Ask Him to stop the enemy from taking what belongs to us.
  • Release the anointing (“the oil that pays the debt”) to break every financial yoke.
  • Decree cancellation of debts, supernatural provision, and restoration of lost assets and destinies.
  • Break generational cycles of financial lack and oppression over our families and children.

An important instruction was given: Write down every single debt — every naira, dollar, or amount owed — and present the list daily before the Lord throughout these 21 days.

This is a no-judgment zone and a solution arena. Whether the debt came through circumstances, mismanagement, or generational patterns, God is ready to deliver. For those who do not yet know Jesus as Savior, or who have strayed, today is a day of salvation and realignment. He alone holds the power to truly set us free.

We close Day 1 declaring that the enemy is stopped in his tracks. The mountain of debt shall become a plain. Who the Son sets free is free indeed.

Engage fully in the fast. Keep presenting your list before the Lord. He who gave the widow her miracle strategy will also give us ours.

Watch out for Day 2. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen.
